Rafiq Azam: redevelopment of Rasulbagh Children’s Park, Dhaka

In the heart of Dhaka, where there was once merely a gap in the urban fabric, there is now the Rasulbagh Children’s Park, a redevelopment project by Rafiq Azam and his firm Shatotto. Greenery used as a boundary, together with a hidden water recovery and filtration system, have transformed this park into a fully-fledged community centre.

One Green Mile by MVRDV with StudioPOD in Mumbai, India

The Dutch architecture firm MVRDV, in collaboration with the urban planners from StudioPOD, has transformed a first section of what is one of the classic non-urban places, in this specific case Mumbai’s Senapati Bapat Marg flyover. Thanks to the architectural intervention carried out, One Green Mile has created a public space for the entire local community, adding much needed services and greenery.

Finalists for the 2022 European Prize for Urban Public Space announced

The European Prize for Urban Public Space is a biennial award presented by the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, or Contemporary Culture Centre of Barcelona (CCCB), which has announced the selected works and the finalists in the 11th edition of the prize. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held at CCCB on 14 and 15 November 2022.

ADHOC Architectes & Prisme Architecture Nautical Centre of Baie-de-Valois Quebec

ADHOC Architectes & Prisme Architecture have designed the new Nautical Centre in Baie-de-Valois, which completes the city of Pointe-Claire's urban park redevelopment program. Inspired by the geological layering of the surrounding landscape and clad in wood, to echo the rhythm of the trunks of the nearby forest, the new building also offers services to citizens that also support the water sports activities available in Lake Saint-Louis.

Rotterdam Rooftop Walk or Rotterdam as you have never seen it

Designed by Rotterdam Rooftop Days and MVRDV, the bright orange Rotterdam Rooftop Walk is a 30-metre high and 600-metre long temporary structure located in the city centre which, for a month, offers the public fantastic views of the city. The initiative shows the potential of rooftops as contributors to a sustainable, healthy and liveable city.

LAND presents Parco Unione, the green lung of the former Falck areas

With its 1.5 million square metres, the transformation of the former Falck areas in Sesto San Giovanni, in the province of Milan, constitute the most extensive urban redevelopment project underway in Italy and one of the largest in Europe. The LAND studio recently presented the Parco Unione project, the first important step in the massive transformation.

Land05 and S K U L L, park revitalisation in Prague

A park in Čakovice, in the Czech Republic, has undergone a regeneration project to better integrate the green area into the Prague neighbourhood around it. The project is implemented by landscape architecture studio Land05, directed by Martina Forejtová, while S K U L L studio designed the Superpower Wall, an art project on the wall marking the park’s southern boundary.
