Snøhetta renovates the Natural History Museum in Lille

The Natural History Museum in Lille is about to undergo a major metamorphosis, thanks to the project created by the Snøhetta studio. The renovation and extension of the building will significantly increase the space available to the public and to exhibitions, offer a new museum route, as well as bring the facility up to current safety standards and strengthen the museum's image on a local, national and international level.

The twenty-sixth Architects Series will focus on international architecture studio Snøhetta. Scheduled for Thursday, November 10, the webinar will include the screening of a video followed by a lecture on the studio’s design approach delivered by co-founder Kjetil Trædal Thorsen. Beginning at 6:30 pm (CET) / 5:30 pm (UK GMT) / 12:30 pm (US EST), the webinar will stream live from the Iris Ceramica Group’s Milan flagship store. Snøhetta designs Duett Düsseldorf, a new cultural hub for Düsseldorf

Duett Düsseldorf, the project for the city of Düsseldorf's new cultural hub designed by the Snøhetta architecture studio, was unveiled recently. The chosen site is in the city centre, close to the Hofgarten park, the river Rhine and the famous and vital Königsallee street. The two iconic towers of Duett Düsseldorf will rise here, seemingly dancing together. The project will also incorporate a large roof garden open to the public, and an opera house of international standing.

Snøhetta Ordrupgaard Museum Extension and Landscape

The Snøhetta architecture firm drew inspiration from the paintings of the French Impressionists for the new Ordrupgaard Museum extension and landscape project recently completed near Jægersborg Dyrehave, to the north of Copenhagen in Denmark. The museum contains one of the most comprehensive collections of French and Danish art from the XIX and XX centuries, and had already been extended in 2005 to a project by architect Zaha Hadid.

Snøhetta selected as winner of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Competition

A design that mitigates the impact of the wind and of other climatic factors, a library to be constructed using local and renewable materials, yet setting new standards of sustainability thanks to sophisticated systems for controlling and managing energy consumption: these are some of the key elements which allowed the Snøhetta architecture studio to win the international design competition for the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in the city of Medora, in North Dakota.
