AGi architects Wafra Wind Tower, new types of urban residences in Kuwait

The Wafra Wind Tower project by AGi architects has been shortlisted for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture 2022. The 13-storey building has been designed as a wind tower. It is traversed by a vertical central courtyard that provides natural ventilation to all housing units, and represents a reinterpretation of typical Kuwaiti urban residential typologies.

Mecanoo The Grace: two new residential towers for The Hague

The city council of The Hague has approved the design by the architectural firm Mecanoo for the construction of The Grace. This residential complex consisting of two towers, one 150 metres high and the other 180 metres, will provide 1400 new properties to meet the growing demand for affordable housing.

Archstudio: Courtyard villa in Tangshan, Hebei, China

Studiotamat, an alchemy of colour for interior design in Rome

Colour and texture are the stars of the interior design project by Studiotamat in a 1930s building in Rome's Parioli district. On the building's top floor, the architects have transformed a 160 square metre flat into a large, light-filled convivial space that is open to the outside world through a large garden terrace overlooking Villa Ada.

Raiz Arquitetura LIU House, on the beach in São Paulo

The LIU House is a beach house on the São Paulo coast, designed by studio Raiz Arquitetura, which was founded by architects Alexandre Ferraz and Elias Souza. The building's façades, particularly the main front one, are its strong points. The system of openings and the large portico designed by the architects ensure natural lighting and cross ventilation throughout the building, protecting it from strong sunlight and significantly improving environmental comfort.
