Fosbury Architecture designs Urban Centre at the Pecci Centre in Prato, Italy

On November 20 the new Urban Centre designed by the Fosbury Architecture collective was inaugurated inside the Luigi Pecci Centre for Contemporary Art in Prato, Italy. A project that received strong support from the Municipality of Prato and the Fondazione per le Arti Contemporanee in Toscana. The new Urban Centre is a permanent laboratory and an observatory on urban transformations, but also a theatre, a space for immersive installations, a thriving place that will open up the museum to a more active participation on the part of citizens and will contribute to the city’s cultural landscape.

The building, constructed at the entrance to the university campus, houses the library, the archive centre, the museum and the offices of La Contemporaine. This is a major French institution, a point of reference in the field of humanities and social sciences studies that preserves and collects documents and objects relating to the contemporary history of the 20th and 21st centuries.
