Lacube architectes Sainte Trinité school campus in Marseilles

Lacube architectes has completed the renovation and expansion of Sainte Trinité, a school in Marseilles. The architects have restored functional consistency to the project as a whole and improved the quality of the environment in a project that aims to make the most of the site’s potential with overall renewal of the entire school complex for students from primary school to senior secondary school.

atelier Stéphane Fernandez Sens Social Student Housing in Marseilles

Atelier Stéphane Fernandez of Aix en Provence designed Sens, a student residence consisting of 84 units that becomes a new gateway between the historic city centre and the area involved in the Euroméditerranée public urban renewal project. The new building looks like a stone monolith, a simple, silent volume set in a very mixed, high-traffic urban area, destined to become an important link between the city and the landscape around it.

Opening of Manifesta 13 in Marseille

Opening later than initially scheduled, Manifesta 13 kicked off in Marseille on 28 August. The biennial event is taking place for the first time in France, as an embodiment of the initiative’s cross-disciplinary and multicultural ideals. A team of architects, urbanists, curators and art products explore the specific geographic and sociopolitical context of the French port city.

Atelier Jean Nouvel The Marseillaise Marseille

The Marseillaise, Jean Nouvel’s new building on the Marseille waterfront, opened at the end of October 2018. Its painted concrete facade contains about 30 different hues of blue, white and red, blending with the sky and the red roofs of the city.
