Lisbon Architecture Triennale The Form of Form

The fourth Lisbon Architecture Triennale opens on October 6 2016 under the title “The Form of Form”. Curators André Tavares and Diogo Seixas Lopes recently announced the 14 events selected to complete the Architecture Triennale programme through an international open call.

Creation from Catastrophe exhibition at The Architecture Gallery, London

The works of Yasmeen Lari, ELEMENTAL, OMA, Shigeru Ban, NLÉ, Toyo Ito, Metabolism (Kenzo Tange and Kurokawa Kisho) and Sir Christopher Wren are examples of reconstruction projects following upon major disasters selected for the exhibition that opened recently at RIBA’s Architecture Gallery.

MoMA exhibition A Japanese Constellation: Toyo Ito, SANAA, and Beyond

Alberto Campo Baeza wins the BigMat International Architecture Award

Architect Alberto Campo Baeza has won the second BigMat '15 International Architecture Award for his plan for the new offices of the government of Castile and Leòn in Zamora, Spain. The first edition of the contest, in 2013, was won by Xaveer De Geyter Architects (XDGA) with Elishout Kitchen Tower Campus COOVI.

Expo after Expo Milano photo exhibition

Tomorrow, November 5, the Order of Architects of Milan opens an exhibition entitled ExpodopoExpo, Lo sguardo di 8 fotografi sulle eredità urbane e ambientali di 7 Expo (“ExpoafterExpo: 8 photographers look at the urban and environmental aftermath of 7 Expos”), in which professional photographers look at the heritage of a number of World’s Fairs.

CCA exhibition The SAAL Process Housing in Portugal 1974–76

The CCA (Centre Canadien d’Architecture) presents an exhibition about SAAL (Serviço Ambulatório de Apoio Local), a service offered by the Portuguese government in the 70s. An important experience for the role of the architect in society, in which names such as Gonçalo Byrne, Artur Rosa, Álvaro Siza, Fernando Távora and Manuel Vicente played a key role.

A house in Lisbon reworked by Aires Mateus
