In the Tibbaut Duplex, Raúl Sánchez combines two apartments into a duplex and creates a box within a box that divides and organises the space. Two floors that were once separate and suffered the effects of a strongly longitudinal orientation are now joined with new circular routes.

Contacto Atlântico, a Portuguese architectural practice based in Estoril, renovated a twelve-floor building on Lisbon’s famous Avenida da Liberdade. The building, which used to contain offices and was covered entirely with glass, is now Liberdade 40: a luxury residential complex containing seventeen apartments of different sizes redesigned by Contacto Atlântico on the basis of the zero-kilometre philosophy, with a passive ventilation system and a truly Portuguese identity

SOA Architectes: the La Fab. building for the agnès b. collection, Paris

Parisian firm SOA Architectes has designed a new multipurpose building in the heart of the 13th arrondissement of the French capital. The building contains 75 residential units, a kindergarten and, on the lower floors, “La Fab.”, which the architecture firm itself has also designed as an interior for agnès b., a stylist, patron and collector who has spent many years supporting artistic creation in all its forms. Her initiatives are also aimed towards social solidarity and safeguarding the environment, and SOA Architectes’ design has provided a home for all of the patron’s various activities under one roof.

In the historical centre of Padua, just a stone’s throw from the Church of the Eremitani and the Scrovegni Chapel, architect Giuseppe Tortato has completed the interior design of a penthouse at the top of an 18th-century building. A project that has once again imbued the apartment with a sense of excitement, freeing it from the superfluous additions resulting from a hurried renovation in the 1980s, emphasising the natural charm of the existing wooden structures and creating a new and intriguing ‘story’ that ties together all the rooms.
