Re: Memo for the web site
The procedures for managing the site under reference with regard to the processing of the personal data of users consulting it are described on this page.
This concerns the memo provided in accordance with Article 13 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 – Privacy Code for all parties interacting with the company’s web services, and it is accessible by telematic means via the following address:
corresponding to the home page of the official site.
The memo is provided only for this site, not for any other web sites that may be reached by a user via links.
The memo is also inspired by Recommendation no. 2/2001 adopted on 17th May 2001 by the European authorities for the protection of personal data during a meeting of the Group set up according to Art. 29 of Directive no. 95/46/CE for the purpose of identifying a number of minimum requisites for collecting personal data on line and, in particular, the procedures, the timing and the nature of the information that the data controllers must provide users with when they connect up to web pages, regardless of the purposes of the connection.
THE DATA CONTROLLER
Following consultation of this site, data relating to identified or identifiable persons may be processed.
The controller of such data is GranitiFiandre S.p.A. (divisione Floornature), in the person of the pro tempore legal representative.
PLACE OF PROCESSING OF THE DATA
The processing connected with the web services of this site takes place at the company headquarters and is taken care of solely by the technical personnel of the Department charged with the processing, or by persons, if any, charged with occasional maintenance activities.
No data arising out of the web service is communicated or circulated.
The personal data provided by those users who request information material (newsletters, CD-ROMs, catalogues, list prices, answers to questions, miscellaneous documents, etc.) to be sent to them are used for the sole purpose of performing the requested service or work.
TYPES OF DATA PROCESSED
During the course of their normal operation, the IT systems and the software procedures for enabling this web site to function acquire some personal data, the transmission of which is implicit in use of the Internet communication protocols.
The information in question is not collected for the purpose of associating it with identified interested parties but it could, due to its very nature, enable identification of the users through processing and association with data in the possession of third parties.
The IP addresses or domain names of the computers employed by users who connect up to the site, the URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) notation addresses of the resources requested, the time of day of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in reply, the numerical code indicating the status of the reply provided by the server (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters relating to the operating system and to the user’s IT environment are included in this data category.
These data are used for the sole purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information about use of the site and for checking its proper functioning, and they are cancelled immediately after they are processed. The data could be used to investigate liability in the event of possible IT offences against the site. Apart from such cases, as things stand, the data concerning web contacts are not retained for more than seven days.
Data provided voluntarily by the user
The optional, explicit and voluntary despatch of e-mail messages to the addresses indicated on this site entails subsequent acquisition of the sender’s address, which is necessary for answering the requests, as well as of any other personal data included in the message.
Specific summary information memos will be set forth or displayed progressively on the pages of the site set aside for special services on request.
No personal data of the users in this respect are acquired by the site.
Cookies are not used for transmitting information of a personal nature, nor are so-called persistent cookies of any kind or systems for tracking users employed.
The use of so-called session cookies (that are not stored in a persistent manner in the user’s computer and vanish when the browser is closed) is limited strictly to transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) necessary for enabling safe and efficient exploring of the site.
The so-called session cookies used at this site avoid recourse to other IT techniques that might potentially prejudice the confidentiality of navigation of the user and do not enable acquisition of personal data enabling identification of users.
OPTIONAL NATURE OF THE PROVISION OF DATA
Except as otherwise specified for navigation data, users are at liberty to provide or otherwise their personal data.
Failure to provide said data could make it impossible to meet their requests.
Personal data are processed with automated tools for the time strictly necessary for achieving the purposes for which they were acquired.
Specific safety measures are observed in order to prevent the loss of data, illegal or incorrect use thereof and unauthorised access thereto.
RIGHTS OF THE PARTIES CONCERNED
The parties to whom the personal data refer are entitled at any time to receive confirmation of the existence or otherwise of the data in question and to know their contents and origin, to check whether they are exact or to request that they be completed or up-dated, or that they be corrected (with regard to completeness, refer to Art. 7 of legislative decree no. 196/2003).
Pursuant to that same article, the parties concerned are entitled to request cancellation, transformation into an anonymous form or blocking of data processed in breach of the law, as well as to oppose in any case for legitimate reasons processing thereof.
Such requests should be addressed to the Data controller of the processing.
