Urban photography journey This form of urban photography is part of a broader-ranging thesis aimed at providing information that allows us to recognise places and their value. Michele Mascalzoni creates an atlas of images dedicated to spaces, shots created to become the foundations of a planning strategy for urban redevelopment.
The idea has its precedents in the 1997 publication "Selezioni del Paesaggio Italiano" by G. Basilico and S. Boeri, which the young photographer has continued, revealing that photography is still a key element in analysis of the fabric of the city, just as it was in the great photographic survey campaigns of the past.
In this selection he presents a sequence taken in the city of Verona, where he moves through the urban fabric from the city centre towards the outskirts, to capture the sequence of development of construction and crudely and directly reveal not only how the city has evolved but how it is perceived by the population.
