Photography, architecture and space

Rome is the city Mario Rossi sets off from and the city he goes back to; he is an architecture photographer in motion, who is artistically multiplied in his photographs. His focal points are human beings and the environment they live in, which is apparently repetitive, but with slight differences in scale and minuscule shifts in point of view.
His photographs also express the continuity of space and time, for they are not classic shots but visions inherent in the act of dwelling in architectural space. Explorations that make every little detail, and every person, truly unique and unrepeatable.
Mario Rossi’s point of view is influenced by his painterly vision of a place, which he transforms into a photograph. This interpretation derives from his personal study of the modern tradition, of the abstract-figurative “-isms” typical of the early twentieth-century avant-garde movements in the arts.
The photographer sees photography as an existential experience, because it is itself a search for the formal relationships between elements, those which constitute and influence our knowledge of any environment. Mario Rossi sees planes, lines and colours as putting the human being at the centre of a place, incorporating him or her in its overall composition.
Geometric patterns and photographic images come together in the work of this photographer, revealing the complexity of living to the viewer.
