Gianluca Giordano Modern Architecture

Gianluca Giordano seeks the signs of a culture that has not yet ended in the ruins of modern architecture. His experience in restoration allows him to see the absence, the emptiness concealing the cultural history of an idea in the crust of architecture and freeze this visual consciousness with his camera.
Here he presents his work focusing on the signs and textures of the Olivetti buildings in Ivrea (TO). The photographic collection is completed in itself and in its dating, as the photographer is always conscious that other eyes, at other times, might give new meaning to the textures he immortalises. Gianluca Giordano demonstrates, in the images he creates, that photography is capable of transforming every visual episode into a communicative experience to be handed on to our contemporaries and to future generations. A story that does not end with the gesture, but opens up for cultural consumption, with the aim of generating reflection and creating new cognitive paths in building conservation.

His images illustrate the dossier to list "Ivrea Città Industriale del XX Secolo" as UNESCO World Heritage.
