Famous buildings in New York
Japanese architect Ryushi Kojima presents his project about the image of urban territory, a guided tour of the city where he lives and works: New York. A metropolis that has become an icon of our age, a city that never sleeps, a mecca for more than 55 million visitors a year. The photographer’s eye is clear and focused, representing the buildings that symbolise the city. Ryushi Kojima captures urban icons and underlines their identity as objects in space, focusing on places that look familiar to us, as the city of New York has become a part of everyone’s imagination thanks to the infinite number of times it has been reproduced in all the visual disciplines.
Ryushi Kojima’s attentive eye adds a personal touch to these spaces, framing his shots in a way which underlines the geometric features and content of the architectural project in a timeless context, all underlined by his use of black and white.
The result is design through creation of object-images, as in the new visual culture of visual marketing, the content of which is completed by the onlooker. This is where Ryushi Kojima finds his expectations met, observing the most emblematic icons of a city that has come to symbolise global society.
