Park Associati Priceless Milano temporary restaurant

Priceless Milano opened recently on the roof of Palazzo Beltrami in Piazza della Scala, Milan: a travelling temporary restaurant designed by Park Associati for Expo Milano 2015 and for Mastercard’s Expo in Città programme.
Palazzo Beltrami was chosen for its unique view over Piazza della Scala and the city of Milan, and for its status as a well-known tourist attraction housing collections of modern and contemporary art.
Mastercard included the event in its ‘Priceless Cities’ programme for promotion of the world’s great cities, managed by 4Ward Events.

The restaurant designed by Park Associati is a 150 square metre installation designed to be moved and reassembled quickly (in only 2 days) resting on the roof of existing buildings in highly visible locations, where it can interact with existing buildings without contrasting with them or dominating over them. It is a sort of travelling gastronomic theatre where prominent chefs from all over the world are invited to put on show cooking performances before guests.
The interior of the pavilion is divided into two areas: a professional kitchen and a dining area with one big table for 24 people, surrounded by clear glass walls.
A press-bent, perforated anodised bronze/gold aluminium veil shelters the glass below it from the sun’s rays and gives the whole assembly a feeling of lightness.
