P78 and P79 Pendent by Happymaker and Jo_Myung Ga_Gae

John Han,

Design,

Many architects make an attempt at furniture design at some point in their career, designing and making items of furniture specifically for their own interiors. Even Happymaker and Jo_Myung Ga_Gae have given in to the temptation.

P78 and P79 Pendent by Happymaker and Jo_Myung Ga_Gae

John Han is the young Korean head of the architecture and interior design studio known as Happymaker Design Studio, and he decided to try designing items of furniture. In this project he worked with Wonki Cho of Jo_Myung Ga_Gae on a hanging lamp clearly intended for projects in vintage and/or industrial style.

The lamp is covered with a lightweight steel grid recalling the ventilation system of a big industrial plant. Under this grid is a cone which serves to deflect light and forms the central part of the lamp. What makes the P78 and P79 so sophisticated, however, is the details: the golden link and the thin chain that supports it. The light bulb also contributes to the vintage style, with its led filament.
The Pendent series includes four lamps with different cone heights and materials, carbon and brushed steel.
