The Slovenian Pavilion designed by architectural practice SoNo arhitekti d.o.o. presents visitors to Expo Milano 2015 with an image of the country’s natural beauty: from the mountain peaks to the depths of its karst caves, passing through the Pannonian Plain, the Mediterranean coast and arable lands.
The concept, based on the theme: "I feel SLOVENIA. Green. Active. Healthy.", is an expression of the strong connection between a healthful environment with healthy food produced by sustainable methods and good quality of life.
The pavilion is made out of natural materials: glass and wood, a raw material of strategic importance in the country, and its pyramid-like shape on a dynamic geometric base is a clear reference to the configuration of the land in Slovenia. The pavilion presents visitors with five themes: salt, bees, thermal and mineral waters, hiking and biking, and green technology in the form of a project for measurement of black carbon concentrations in the atmosphere.
