Regional awards and honourable mentions at the 7th Barbara Cappochin Biennale
Architectural studio Archipiùdue, run by architects Paolo Miotto and Mauro Sarti, has won the Regional Award at the seventh "Barbara Cappochin" International Architecture Biennale for the Urban Redevelopment Project for Via Andrea Costa and the Surrounding Area in the context of the Il Mestre – Altobello District Contract. The judges emphasised that the architects managed to use a participatory process to redesign “the public spaces of Mestre with great care and ability, without formalistic exhibitionism, regenerating and making use of vacant urban spaces and existing constructions”.
On the occasion of the awards ceremony, two honourable mentions were awarded to CZ Studio Associati - arch. Laura Zampieri for the design of outdoor spaces and landscaping in the reclamation project for Sacca Island in Venice and to (A+M)2 Architects - arch. Marcello Galiotto for restoration of the Santa Croce monastery on the Canal Grande in Venice.
