Next Landmark Tour

The Next Landmark Tour is underway!
The contest launched by the portal of architecture and design culture Floornature has become a travelling event with twin purposes: focusing attention on projects entered in the contest by young architects and promoting local debate about design culture with the involvement of architects and citizens.

The first leg on the Next Landmark Tour has been completed with the appreciation of the critics and the public alike in collaboration with the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservation Workers of the Province of Parma at Spazio Pasubio. Speeches by Alessandro Tassi Carboni, chairman of the Order of Architects, and Federica Minozzi, CEO of Floornature.com, GranitiFiandre and Ariostea, began the event moderated by Paolo Schianchi,editor-in-chief of Floornature.com.

Using the same sustainable methodology as the competition, without any drawings on paper or other media, but using only computer files and multimedia resources, projects by the winners and finalists were presented on screens. The debate drew inspiration from the work of the new generation of world architects to discuss the future of contemporary architecture. A convivial event of great cultural importance, open to all architects and leading to interesting reflection on issues in architecture in relation to anthropological geography, the ethics of building and utopias as new resources for Italian enterprises and architecture.

The ?Rope Pavilion? project by Kevin Erickson, winner in the "first works" category in the Next Landmark contest, was illustrated by Paolo Schianchi himself, while Elisa Minari (who won the Research section with Habitachao para todos) and Matteo Battistini and Francesco Ceccarelli of laprimastanza (Davide Agostini + Matteo Battistini + Steve Camagni + Francesco Ceccarelli won an honourable mention for their project A new sustainable city - Blovstrød town district), presented their projects and talked with the architects and students who attended the event.
