The Shanghai Exhibition Center also presented "The Italian way", a project promoting Italian design, and on October 13 Tongji University hosted a conference on "Design and Smart Cities" and "Intellectual property rights in the design industry".
The design partnership between Italy and Shanghai is coordinated by the “Sino-Italian design Center” which opened in March 2014 in Palazzo Strozzi in Florence with the parallel “Sino-Italian design Center” that opened on October 11 in Shanghai as an incubator for Italian start-ups in China.
