In memory of SuperSic

A champion like Marco Simoncelli, known to his fans as SuperSic, lives forever in the collective memory in the heat of the race, in the saddle of his roaring motorcycle. 

The memory takes material form in a beautiful photo snapped at the Qatar Gran Prix: a strong, powerful image in which the camera manages to capture the look in Marco Simoncelli’s eyes behind the visor of his helmet. 

The image was chosen to pay homage to SuperSic and fixed on a big ceramic tile measuring 300x150 cm installed in a hotel Marco owned in Gabicce Mare. The image was produced by the research and development centre of the Iris Ceramica Group, which used a blend of photocomposition and resin to give three-dimensional depth to the photograph and reflect the intensity of the late racing champion’s unforgettable gaze.
