Gmp Data Centre of China Life Insurance Shanghai

Architectural studio gmp designed the new Shanghai headquarters of China Life Insurance, China’s biggest insurance company.
The complex consists of 3 buildings with a number of functions: not just offices, but a hotel for conferences and the insurance company’s Data Center, located in the centre of the complex.
From the outside, the complex looks like a unitary whole thanks to the shared base unifying the three regular volumes; the interior composition of each building is made dynamic by large entrance halls and inner courtyards.
The architectural studio of von Gerkan, Marg and Partners (gmp) was also entrusted with the interior design project; the client wanted the architectural project to express the key values of an insurance company, particularly its reliability and forward-looking attitude.
