Expo after Expo Milano photo exhibition

Expo Milano 2015 is over. What will remain, and what will become of the structures that welcomed millions of visitors over the past few months and the land they were built on?

The Order of Architects of Milan encourages public debate about a number of themes of importance to the community in the exhibition: ExpodopoExpo, Lo sguardo di 8 fotografi sulle eredità urbane e ambientali di 7 Expo (“ExpoafterExpo: 8 photographers look at the urban and environmental aftermath of 7 Expos”). The important thing is that after-Expo be as transparent as possible, something everyone can be proud of.
The starting point is looking back at past experiences, including some images that the Order of Architects of Milan had already presented to the public in 2009, when Expo 2015 had just been assigned to the city of Milan, now been completed with reports on Expo Shanghai 2010 and Expo Milano 2015.
The photo exhibition documents the heritage of the world’s fairs held in other cities before Milan, with photographs by Claudio Sabatino (Seville 1992), Marco Introini (Lisbon 1998), Claudio Gobbi (Hannover 2000), Maurizio Montagna (Switzerland 2002), Gabriele Basilico (Saragoza 2008), Pierfrancesco Celada (Shanghai 2010), Matteo Cirenei and Marco Menghi (Milan 2015).
