C.F. Møller new LEGO Group headquarters in Billund

C.F. Møller,

C.F. Møller Architects has been appointed to design the new headquarters of LEGO, the famous toy brick manufacturer, including not only a new office complex but a large public park. The group’s idea is that the new headquarters will be more than just a workplace, but a place for employees to meet and have fun together.

C.F. Møller new LEGO Group headquarters in Billund

"LEGO" stands for toy bricks in everyone’s imagination, and so it was only natural that the design of the group’s new headquarters in Billund, Denmark recently presented to the public by C.F. Møller Architects should centre around the element of "play".
A number of large-scale toy building blocks serve as architectural elements in the new headquarters, visible from the outside and on the inside, as in the big colourful foyer running the full height of the building and forming its heart.
The new building will stand on a 52 thousand square metre lot, and “sharing” will be the keyword in the project. In addition to the LEGO offices, the building will contain LEGO® People Houses, a series of informal spaces which may be used as gathering places for employees in the Billund offices and other company offices, to encourage teamwork, as well as for leisure activities with interactive elements. The building will be set in a big public park which will be integrated with the landscape around it in accordance with the city’s urban development plan. Optimal lighting, energy conservation and plenty of green space with a campus-type atmosphere are the strong points of the project.
