Architecture by Herzog & de Meuron on display at the Vancouver Art Gallery

Material Future: The Architecture of Herzog & de Meuron and the Vancouver Art Gallery, is the title of the exhibition currently on at the Vancouver Art Gallery, dedicated to the Herzog & de Meuron studio.
The exhibition focuses on the architecture that the studio has created over the last 15 years, with particular attention given to key buildings like galleries and museums: the Tate Modern and its extension in London, the de Young Museum in San Francisco and the Schaulager in Basel.
The exhibition also aims to show the public the modus operandi of the architects, whose attention to materials, surfaces, places and context has made an important contribution to international architecture.
The interest lies in the fact that the Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron have designed the new Vancouver Art Gallery and the concept design of the new structure will be officially presented to the public on 29th September.
A section of the Material Future exhibition is dedicated to the planning, design and construction of the new home of the Vancouver Art Gallery.
