AR Design Studio wins award for 4 Views

The 4 Views house by AR Design Studio has won the Sunday Times British Homes Award: a prestigious award for these young architects, Andy Ramus and Laura Locke, which they won for the project that was completed in February 2014.
Everything in this single-family home in Winchester, Hampshire was designed to help restore the health and well-being of its occupants, by focusing on its close connection with nature.  The name “4 Views” refers to the fact that the large windows in the grey brick and cedar-clad home give fantastic views in every direction – three across the downs and the fourth into the inner courtyard.
The AR Design Studio project won in the best “one-off-house” category, an award earned also because the clients gave the architects plenty of freedom, allowing them free creative rein to come up with what the clients call a “life experience”. The result is a tangible example of how architecture can have a positive effect on the health and well-being of its users.
“4 Views” has also been shortlisted for the Brick Awards 2014 and the Build It Awards.
