Gabriele Basilico, Vincenzo Castella, Luigi Ghirri and Massimo Vitali are 4 important Italian photographers featured in an exhibition underway until March 13 at the Howard Greenberg Gallery in New York.

An Italian Perspective
The exhibition curated by Angela Madesani and organised by Studio la Città in collaboration with the Howard Greenberg Gallery in New York presents 4 important Italian photographers: Gabriele Basilico, Vincenzo Castella, Luigi Ghirri and Massimo Vitali.
The intention is to reflect on a possible Italian identity in photography despite the differences among individual photographers.

Luigi Ghirri?s works in the exhibition underline his conceptual approach, with vintage images from the '70s to the early '90s.
Gabriele Basilico?s photographs belong to a number of cycles (Bord de Mer, Mission Photographique de la Datar) and also include photographs of cities from Moscow to San Francisco.

Massimo Vitali?s work is presented in a number of images from the beaches series illustrating collective spaces where masses of people gather.

Vincenzo Castella?s work includes new images of Istanbul and Malta and some very recent work about Venice produced specifically for the exhibition.
