A weekend of architecture in Alto Adige. Fondazione Architettura Alto Adige is holding the first Bolzano Bozen Architecture Festival May 18 through 21 and the second edition of Architecture Days May 20 through 22, 2016.
"Building the landscape" is the theme of Architeture Days, the second edition of an initiative organised by Fondazione Architettura Alto Adige, coming up May 20 through 22 2016 with a great variety of events and itineraries involving the entire region of Alto Adige.
A region which, as Fondazione Architettura Alto Adige chairman Carlo Calderan notes, is famous for its relationship with the environment, both the uncontaminated natural environment of the Dolomites and the glaciers of the Venosta Valley and the environment built by man, whose work has made the Alpine environment habitable.
The itineraries featured in 2016 focus on farmhouses, hotels, public and private buildings that have established a relationship with nature and the landscape around it. In addition to Architecture Days, between May 18 and 21 Fondazione Architettura Alto Adige supports the first edition of the BAF – Bolzano Bozen Architecture Festival in Bolzano.
The Festival, based on an idea by four citizens of
Bolzano under 30, takes place in five different parts of the historic centre of Bolzano, where the theme of the Festival, "Meanwhile: temporary architecture" will include conferences, workshops and exhibitions. The Festival brings together in a single event Design, Architecture and Urban Planning in a place where people can meet, talk, experiment, propose, discover and understand.
