14th International Architecture Exhibition - Fundamentals

Fundamentals, the International Architecture Exhibition curated by Rem Koolhaas, will include three complementary events: "Absorbing Modernity 1014-2014", "Elements of Architecture" and "Monditalia".
Rem Koolhaas has set aside "Absorbing Modernity 1014-2014" for the contribution of the international pavilions which will demonstrate the process of transition towards what seems to be a universal architectural vocabulary. The 2014 edition will also see an increase in the number of participating countries, 65, with 11 countries participating in the event in Venice for the first time.

"Elements of Architecture", in the central pavilion, will focus on the basic elements used by architects of all times and places.

In "Monditalia", Rem Koolhaas invites the directors of various different disciplines at the Biennale (Dance, Music, Theatre and Film) to take part and bring their disciplines to the exhibition representing Italy in the Arsenale.
