Alessandro Mendini. From the infinite to the infinitesimal
The "Alessandro Mendini" exhibition – April 9 through September 6 2009 – in Rome’s Ara Pacis Museum is an "anthological" reflection on the career of a great Italian master of architecture and design.
The exhibition includes about 200 productions by Alessandro Mendini exhibited and loaned to the exhibition by 19 Italian companies (Alessi, Baleri Italia, Bisazza, Byblos Casa - Errestudio, Cassina, Cleto Munari, Corsi Design, De Padova, Glas Italia, Alchimia, Mamoli Rubinetterie, Olivari, Segno, Slamp, Superego, Swatch, Venini, Zanotta and Zerodisegno) in addition to Atelier Mendini, 8 private lenders, Fondazione Boschi Di Stefano, Museo Alessi and the Permanent Collection of the Design Museum at the Triennial in Milan, which contributed about 300 original drawings.
The exhibition is promoted by the City of Rome, Councillorship for Cultural and Communications Policies, Cultural Heritage Superintendency and Zètema Progetto Cultura, curated by Beppe Finessi, with installations designed by Marco Ferreri, graphic design by Italo Lupi, and a catalogue published by Corraini.
