Zaha Hadid, Roca London Gallery

Flowing water is the theme of the Roca London Gallery designed by Zaha Hadid for the brand. The gallery takes up the entire ground floor of a building and presents itself to the outside world in the form of a single façade. The outdoor spaces blend into the interiors, in a sequence of dynamic spaces that appear to be eroded and sculpted by water, the product of interaction between architecture and nature.
In describing the project, architect Zaha Hadid describes her intention of impregnating the building with the complexity and beauty of natural forms using a formal vocabulary based on the motion of water.
The fluid, dynamic white cement interior is extremely modern, with advanced audiovisual, sound and light installations.
Lighting is provided by light sources that look like huge stones cast here and there along the way and spotlights arranged along the central axis around which the Roca London Gallery unfolds.
