Surfaces for bars and restaurants: FMG’s porcelain collections
Some of the best examples of contemporary interior design and architecture are to be found in bar and restaurant projects.
Whether they’re covering panels, floors, walls, bar counters or kitchen countertops, porcelain surfaces offer all the creative inspiration needed to make bars and restaurants true centres of contemporary design. A multitude of material effects make porcelain tiles perfect for customising spaces of all kinds, from residential to public and commercial, for a truly original, unique atmosphere.

Over the years FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti has covered surfaces in countless bars and restaurants in Italy and abroad with "exclusive high impact" looks.
The charm and elegance of FMG’s porcelain tile collections offer a variety of effects: marble, granite, wood, stone, cements and metals.
The outstanding technical performance of porcelain is combined with an aesthetic and a colour palette perfect for creating today’s best bars and restaurants.
A few examples appear in our gallery: Il Sarto, a lounge bar in Acqui Terme, Dispensa Emilia in Modena, and Josefina in Stockholm’s Djurgarden.

Il Sarto in Acqui Terme is a big lounge bar designed by architect Martina Tornato, a historic meeting place decorated with Ardesia Cinza tiles from the FMG stone effect collection. The texture and veins of natural stone are perfect for covering both spaces in contemporary style and those with a more classic atmosphere, showing off a timeless product in traditional colours that is resistant to deep scratches, wear, stains and chemicals.

A popular gathering-place for enjoying the best traditional local specialities, Dispensa Emilia in Modena features the Lavica Dark surfaces of the Maxfine big slab collection. An atmosphere and a brand combining "the pleasures of the table with the high quality of traditional Emilian products", in which the performance of the surfaces is of primary importance for creating a hospitable atmosphere and ensuring easy cleaning. FMG porcelain tiles make it easy to maintain the high standards of everyday hygiene essential in popular restaurants without damaging the material with cleaning products.

Josefina is a club and restaurant on the park island of Djurgården, with views of the Stockholm waterfront. Tourism and hospitality are the island’s most important industry, and recreational and dining facilities such as Josefina are very popular on the local nightlife scene. The black and white marble effect of FMG’s Bianco Statuario and Luxus Black combine elegance with exotic charm to create an evocative atmosphere suggesting conviviality and fun.
