Structure. Norwegian contemporary craft and design exhibition. After Lambrate during the 2016 Milan Design Week, the exhibition “Structure. Norwegian contemporary craft and design” arrives at the Felleshus in Berlin. An interdisciplinary look at the creative scene in Norway.

From 1 February 2017 at the Felleshus - Pan-Nordic Building of the Nordic Embassies - in Berlin, you can enjoy the exhibition “Structure. Norwegian contemporary craft and design”. This exhibition made its debut in Lambrate during the 2016 Milan Design Week and is the output of a new initiative that brings together Nordic craft and design talent and showcases the vision, innovation and artistry behind Norway's contemporary creative scene - regardless of sector, discipline or material specialism.
Structure is the brainchild of three of Norway's most forward-thinking creative organisations: designers' union designer Klubben, contemporary craft resource Norwegian Crafts and paint manufacturers Jotun. It was all presented thanks to the collaboration with the Norwegian Centre for Design and Architecture (DOGA) that we visited last September during the Oslo Triennale.
An appointment to explore Nordic design, for years synonymous with clean lines and high quality materials and craftsmanship, from furniture to textiles, from interior decoration to lighting.
We'll be in Berlin on 31 January for the opening of the exhibition that will be showcasing 26 designers and artisans. At 6 pm, multi-award winning designer Runa Klock will give a talk; her nature-inspired projects have a marked interest in materials and crafts with a strong social component. This will be followed by a debate with curators Jannicke Kråkvik and Hanna Nova Beatrice, the director of Norwegian Crafts Hege Henriksen and designers Anette Krogstad and Runa Klock, moderated by Jeni Fulton, editor-in-chief of Sleek magazine.
“Structure. Norwegian contemporary craft and design” will run until 20 April 2017, and is also a great opportunity to get a closer look at the fine architecture of the Felleshus, Pan-Nordic Building of the Nordic Embassies designed by Berger + Parkkinen, which now has a café also open to the general public.
