Coordinated urban regeneration in Tuscany “Piantiamo il seme dell'architettura che verrà” (We sow the seeds of architecture to come) is the tagline for a cycle of conferences on the theme of sustainable architecture and coordinated urban regeneration. It is organised by GreenHub and supported by the Tuscany Region and is starting out on 23 May with a call for papers.

The “Call for Papers” for “Piantiamo il seme dell'architettura che verrà” (We sow the seeds of architecture to come) is being launched in a few days. This cycle of conferences is organised by the GreenHub association and supported by the Tuscany Region, with the collaboration of the Tuscany branches of the Italian Association of Builders (ANCE) and the National Association of Municipalities (ANCI), the Italian Town Planning Institute (INU) and the Tuscany association of architects, designers, landscape architects and curators (Federazione Architetti PPC). Floornature is the media partner and Iris Ceramica is the main sponsor.
The theme of rural and urban regeneration is becoming increasingly important because it is closely connected with social innovation. Actively involving professionals and residents for a design approach that completely overhauls the dynamics needed to improve the complex stakeholder system. Basically, it's all about giving the territory and the urban fabric a second chance, ensuring that they benefit from earlier experiences, and in this case with the added value of a collective project.
Which is why the organisers intend to gather testimonies and ideas from professionals around the following themes: water recovery and management, zero gas and NZEB buildings, building structures and drywall systems, diagnosis and consolidation of buildings, efficient approach to cultural assets, urban regeneration.
Abstracts must be submitted by 16 June 2017 and they will be assessed by a scientific committee. The selected authors will be able to discuss their projects during the conferences that will be held after summer and they will also feature in the book being published for the initiative.
