Next Landmark 2018 recognises restaurants, bars and hotels The Next Landmark contest, promoted by the Floornature.com architecture and design portal published by the Iris Ceramica Group, and aimed at new generations of architects and designers, is now in its seventh year. Two sections: LANDMARK OF THE YEAR 2018 and HOSPITALITY INTERIOR DESIGN.

This is the seventh edition of the Next Landmark international contest promoted by the architecture and design portal Floornature.com published by the Iris Ceramica Group. It has come full circle and is back in Venice, where it all began in 2012, but it's now boosted by new experiences and designs for the future, like the partnership with FICO, the world’s largest agri-food park, in addition to the consolidated partnership with the Master's Degree in Creativity and Communication Design (MSTC) at the IUSVE Venice-Verona University.
This year's contest has two sections: HOSPITALITY INTERIOR DESIGN, open to all designers in the architecture and design categories, and LANDMARK OF THE YEAR 2018, an invitation-only section for people who participated in any of the past editions of Next Landmark with the goal of fostering the creation of a community of designers open to contemporary architectural debate.
Both sections of Next Landmark 2018 will recognise the best interior design for hospitality created after 1 January 2010. The list includes unconventional food service facilities, hotels, restaurants, and cafés. A wide-ranging and engaging sector as we can see at Livegreenblog too, where we often showcase new projects completed in these areas.
Consistent with the practice in previous years, it costs nothing to participate and everything is done online, so all architects and designers can submit their designs. Make sure you carefully read the instructions for uploading your projects because submissions need to adhere to the specified resolution and format.
This year's jury is composed of Oscar Farinetti (FICO Eataly World), Gaetano Maccaferri (SECI Real Estate), Nicola Leonardo (The Plan, event media partner), Federica Minozzi (CEO Iris Ceramica Group) and Paolo Schianchi (floornature.com) and they'll be evaluating spatial innovation, originality and sustainability. The jury members will be judging submissions according to: originality; the human relationship with the hospitality space; technical, aesthetic or conceptual innovation.
The prizes for the winners of both sections will be a four-day trip to Venice (including travel and hotel accommodation for three nights for 2 people); two tickets to the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale 2018; a NEXTLANDMARK INTERNATIONAL CONTEST 2018 winner's certificate; exhibition of their work in an installation designed specifically for the awards ceremony, which will take place on 27th September 2018 at 6 pm at the FICO Eataly World, and publishing of their work online in all the Iris Ceramica Group's media.
The winners of the LANDMARK OF THE YEAR section will also have a double-page article in the international architecture magazine The Plan.
So, what are you waiting for? Just visit the contest website and upload your project by 30 June 2018.
We hope to see you at the awards ceremony on 27 September in the amphitheatre of FICO Eataly World in Bologna!
