Fuorisalone 2018, Brera Design District Just 10 days before the opening of the Salone del Mobile and the Milan Design Week, from 17 to 22 April 2018, design enthusiasts are checking their schedule not to miss any of the great proposals of the Fuorisalone of Milan. Here is an overview of the Brera Design District.

Some areas of Milan really fascinate the design enthusiasts who visit the Milan Design Week: among these, we find the Brera Design District. It is an international landmark, and a centre devoted to the city creative, commercial and cultural development. In short, it is the most important district in Italy for the promotion of design. The neighbourhood, in the old centre of Milan, comes alive with several exhibitions, welcoming its visitors in Largo Treves with the iconic installation The Rising, by Francesco Librizzithe new Brera Design District Info Point, characterised by its artificial sun (link news Agnese).
The exhibitions held in Brera include Aesthetic Visions, presented by Manfredi Style. It is a journey through elements of contemporary design inside an elegant Milanese building. The installation, created by Studio Milo, by Arianna Crosetta and Federica Gosio, emphasises the dialogue between the spaces at Via Palermo 5 (on the second floor) and the design objects on display.
The event, curated by Manfredi Style, is a multidisciplinary initiative involving art and design, uniting the aesthetic visions of designers from different continents. Here, visitors will find out what creatives from Austria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, South Korea, France, India, Italy, Israel, Russia and Turkey have in common. Despite being so different from one another, they all follow a contemporary style that is reflected in the choice of materials and their creative processes. “Aesthetic Visions” exhibits objects that fascinate us for their refined aesthetics, the care of the execution, and the love for the detail. Considering the quality of the products, all these aspects define their intrinsic sustainability.
A few steps away, the courtyard at Corso Garibaldi 2 hosts the installation “Carrara Causeway”, designed by Marco Porpora Architetti for Ariostea, the Iris Ceramica Group brand. This work merges two natural landscapes in a single creative moment: the Carrara quarries, in the Apuan Alps, the and Giant’s Causeway, in Ireland. The entire work is realised with large Bianco Carrara slabs of Ultra Marmi Ariostea.
