European Outdoor Film Tour 2017/18 The European Outdoor Film Tour is a celebration of life in the open air, in close contact with nature, of people taking up the challenge of an adventure-filled world - and the 2017/18 edition has begun. Seven action films tell the stories of spectacular experiences against unique natural backdrops.

Autumn is the film festival season and one of the most exciting of these is without a doubt the European Outdoor Film Tour with the 2017/18 edition previewing on 5 October in Munich, and offering a new season of adventures going by the title “This is real”.

These seven action films take us to very different corners of the earth: from the Mar de Glace, France’s largest glacier and the kingdom of freeskier Sam Favret in “Ice Call” to the Amazon jungle of Ecuador on a dugout built by Brit duo Benjamin Sadd and James Trundle in “Dug Out”. Then “Into Twin Galaxies” is all about a journey to discover the eternal glaciers of Greenland on snow kites and kayaks, while in “Follow the Fraser” we get to know British Columbia in Canada through the adventures of three daring mountain bikers, building and riding features along the Sibola Range. “Choices” is the film by US free climber Steph Davis, the first woman to achieve many free climbs and wingsuit jumps. “The attitude of gratitude” is also about the mountains, with Simone Moro and Tamara Lunger together traversing the Kangchenjunga in Nepal. Mount Ushba in the film of the same name “Ushba” is an even more exotic destination, where in July 2017, the Swiss free-rider Samuel Anthamatten, together with Léo Slemett - winner of the Freeride World Tour 2017 - and South Tyrolean free-rider Markus Eder ski down the most distinguishable peak of the Caucasus Mountains
The most renowned film event on the European outdoor calendar is on tour from 6 October, travelling to 13 countries in Europe to end in February 2018. There will undoubtedly be a cinema near you where you can experience the unique emotions and natural beauties of our planet, with some of the sportswomen and men and directors also in attendance.
