That's Vapore, a restaurant that serves healthy, tasty food, appointed Alchemia Studio from Milan to design its premises in Assago and Piazza Gae Aulenti, all kept as light as the brand.


That's Vapore is a Milan-based restaurant chain that uses steam - synonymous with lightness - flavour and fantasy in its cuisine and through a combination of freedom and inspiration, this has become the key element of the interior design by Alchemia Studio (Priscilla Gouveia and Valentina Musumeci).
The two designers have come up with the new brand concept in its Assago premises, just outside Milan, and in Piazza Gae Aulenti, injecting freshness and elegance into the already warm, playful atmosphere of the existing restaurants. The biggest challenge was to create a new concept and keep the brand's identity and recognisability.
These two places are very different sizes, but share the same concept with regard to the choice of materials and the branding. The floors are in natural earth and copper shades, setting the scene for the black slate walls, used as blackboards, and here decorated with phrases and drawings handcrafted by illustrator Irene Glenguas. Art that communicates positivity and wellness, along the lines of the cuisine of That's Vapore, famous because it only steams its food, to retain all its nutritional properties.  
The spruce wood panelling around the bottom of the walls has been left natural and references the grey ceiling, again in a light coloured wood. To continue in this “green” vein, in Assago a table has been built around a ficus plant, which makes a great conversation starter.
Priscilla Gouveia and Valentina Musumeci have created much more than a place where you can eat healthy, appetising meals. Their revamp of That's Vapore combines the desire for a more conscious lifestyle with an elegantly contemporary interior design that breaks away from the typical rustic idea of so many “eco-friendly” places. Now, thanks to Alchemia Studio and That's Vapore, in Milan sustainable dining and elegance go hand in hand!
