2016 Fuorisalone The invisible form of ideas. The exhibition called “L'invisibile forma delle idee. Design e Arte. All'origine del processo creativo” (The invisible form of ideas. Design and Art. Behind the creative process) combines the design of architect Franco Albino with the painting of Rodolfo Viola. A combination that seeks to explore the sparks of creativity.

Since 1966, the Strasburgo gallery in the historical centre of Milan, Piazza San Babila, has housed the art gallery of the same name that showcases high-end artworks and is the only place that exhibits the works of renowned Milan-based artist, Rodolfo Viola.

During the 2016 Furniture Fair and MIArt, the exhibition “L'invisibile forma delle idee. Design e Arte. All'origine del processo creativo” (The invisible form of ideas. Design and Art. Behind the creative process) explores the genesis of design by bringing together Viola's paintings and Albini's designed objects.

A theme that goes well with our own research and that is topical at the same time: debate about the process of creation has been raging for a while in a range of sectors, as we can see for example with the GENESIS lectures organised by the University of Pisa, in the book on Webcreativity by Paolo Schianchi, or also in visiting this exhibition.
The exhibition “L'invisibile forma delle idee” (the invisible form of ideas) was organised in collaboration with the Fondazione Franco Albini, where the “lightness and essence” of the works of this great 20th century Italian architect engage with the abstract canvases of Rodolfo Viola. Visitors are invited to reflect on the origin of the ideas that give shape to works immune from the passing of time in an exceptional venue.

Indeed, the Italian Superintendence of Fine Arts has declared the Strasburgo gallery a “historical site”. A project designed by architect Luigi Caccia Dominioni with the addition of the fine mosaic floor decoration by Francesco Somaini. What's more, the elliptical skylight overhead brings in light, making the interior warm, welcoming and completely timeless.

What better place to reflect on the spark of creativity, that creativity which leaves a mark on the floating surface of time?
