• 1945/57 - Attends elementary school and secondary school in Trieste
  until 1968 - Attends the faculty of architecture at the Vienna Polytechnic and Academy of Fine Arts. Graduating thesis with Dr. Roland Rainer
  1979/81 - Assistant at the Technical University of Munich/Bavaria and at the Vienna Polytechnic
  1982/87 - Guest professor at Lausanne, Paris, Venice, Philadelphia, London, Harvard-Cambridge, Boston and Vienna
  since 1988 - Full professor at the Stuttgart Technical University and Director of the Institute of Architectural Design and Theory of Space
  1990/95 - Director of the international architecture seminar in Vienna
  since 1996 - Honorary member of Bund Deutscher Architekten
  2000 - Honorary degree from Maribor University
