A logo is a distinguishing and identifying sign with a simple appearance that is however the result of a great deal of study, synthesis, analysis and creativity aimed at ensuring its recognisability and popularity.
Floornature.com, continuing to apply the ethical principles for which it stands out, focusing on research and promotion, entrusted creation of the logo, coordinated image and advertising of the Next Landmark Contest to a group of young designers from IUSVE International University in Venice.
The aim of the initiative was to provide young people with an ethical opportunity, supporting recent graduates in the design disciplines and helping them find their place in the world of employment by making their work visible to as many people as possible.
Floornature.com offered Giulia Bergamo, Chiara Bertato, Nicolò Cappelleti, Ivan Manara, Nicola Montaguti, Marco Provolo and Andrea Rubele an opportunity to demonstrate their ability to create and manage an integrated communications and design programme, coming up with the idea and implementing it. It is interesting to note that the creativity of the seven young graduates, in this relay race for young designers just beginning their careers, is now handing on the baton to the other young architects, engineers, landscape architects, urban planners and designers who enter the contest.
Here we present only a few of the steps in creation of this coordinated image: from the concept to the final product. The intention is to offer visibility to the genesis of an image designed for architecture.
The project took shape through in-depth analysis of the target, and was then filtered through the young designers’ sensibility, transforming it into an ethical visual communications project. The colours, lettering and graphic layout speak of the new creative potential of a form of design that respects the environment, as demonstrated, for instance, by the graphics taken from local maps in the initial letters of the title, NL, becoming the key theme of the contest’s image.
From the logo to creation of the contest.floornature.com minisite, from coordinated printed matter to press releases and the evening event to be held in Venice during the 13th Architecture Biennale, the team of young people created and is now giving concrete form to a direct, legible, attractive, expressive integrated communications concept with a strong visual impact underlining the new landmarks designed by their colleagues, the young architects, engineers, landscape architects, urban planners and designers who enter the contest.
