2014 AIA New York Chapter Design Awards

There were 35 winners in the 2014 edition of the AIA New York Chapter Design Awards, announced at a symposium held at the Center for Architecture in New York.

The winning projects, divided into a number of competition categories, were selected by the judges on the basis of a number of criteria: quality of design, response to context and to the community in which they are located, technical innovation, etc.
The judges awarded a total of 35 prizes and special mentions in a number of different categories: architecture, interiors, urban planning and design. The long list of prize-winners includes BIG Bjarke Ingels Group, Steven Holl Architects, Richard Meier & Partners, Diller Scofidio + Renfro and other prominent names on the world architecture scene.

All the award-winning projects will be featured in the "Design Awards" exhibition opening on April 24 at the Center for Architecture in New York and continuing until June 13.
