Exhibition: George Nelson, architect, writer, designer, teacher
The exhibition George Nelson: Architect, Writer, Designer, Teacher celebrates the centennial of the American designer’s birth. Organised by the Vitra Design Museum, it is the first complete retrospective of the architect’s work. Nelson was convinced that design was an integral part of a company’s philosophy, and was also a pioneer of business communications and corporate design. The exhibition is divided into five theme areas, with a main core consisting of furnishings designed by Nelson included in the collections of the Vitra Design Museum: not just classics but lesser-known pieces, along with more than 50 historical documents, including drawings, photographs, architectural models and videos.
