Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec Album exhibition

Items by designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec are presented in an exhibition at the Vitra Design Museum using a method based on that of laboratories and museums of the natural sciences.

The intention is to represent the complex process of the designers’ work.
The Bouroullec brothers design their products with all the meticulousness of scientists, subjecting their intuitions and studies to repeated tests.
The two designers first investigate their ideas in drawings, tenuous images which are lightly sketched in an almost naïf fashion but represent a unique world of forms.

In the age of the internet and CAD software, the exhibition underlines the fact that drawing is still an essential tool for designing objects, putting down design concepts on paper and giving form to designers’ spontaneous and premeditated ideas.
