Two exhibitions in Milan celebrate one of the unrivalled masters of twentieth-century Italian architecture and design.

Milano, two exhibitions about Gio Ponti Fifty years after the creation of Palazzo Pirelli, the skyscraper designed by Gio Ponti which now houses the Regional Administration of Lombardy, the exhibition “Gio Ponti. The charm of ceramics” celebrates the work of a great Italian master of architecture and design. The exhibition is specifically dedicated to his work as a designer and to his ceramics and majolica designed for Richard Ginori between 1923 and 1930.

At the same time, the Triennale in Milan hosts the exhibition “Expressions of Gio Ponti”, featuring more than 250 sketches, drawings, paintings, sculptures, works in ceramic and majolica, items of furniture and studio models, drawing visitors? attention to the complexity of the work of Gio Ponti. His career spanned about seventy years working in architecture, industrial design, crafts and art in search of links between architecture and the other arts, communicating about them through the magazine “Domus”, the publication “Stile” and the creation of the first Triennale exhibition in Milan in 1933.
