The international competition for young designers is over, but the events of Festival Design Parade 8 continue, uniting design, fashion and photography in exhibitions and meetings.
On 7 July, the judges announced the winners of the eighthDesign Parade competition for young designers, which is promoted as part of the festival by the same name that is held every year in Villa Noailles, Hyères Francia. This initiative perpetuates the intention of the original owners of the villa, Charles and Marie-Laure de Noailles: to support the creativity of young designers and provide the possibility for creative artists, journalists, professionals and the general public to meet and discuss design themes.
The Festival includes meetings, exhibitions and seminars based on the themes of design, fashion and photography, with a special focus on Marcel Breuer, through the dedicated exhibition: Marcel Breuer...Sun & Shadow.
Of the ten young designers selected who participated in the exhibition dedicated to them with their design works, the judges named Mathieu Peyroulet Ghilini the winner of the Grand Prix Design Parade 8. The design prize awarded by the Conseil Général du Var, a special theme where all the designers have to present a specific work went to Laureline Galliot. For the 2013 edition, the judges also awarded honourable mentions to Claire Lavabre and Daniele Bortotto, while the prize of the festival public went toMugi Yamamoto.
