28-12-2010
The exhibition at the santralistanbul in Istanbul, organised by the Triennale Design Museum and curated by Andrea Branzi, focuses on Italian design and documents its transformations and links with the economic, political and technical changes of the century to provide a rich, varied overview.

The New Italian Design 2.0 is the up-to-date, expanded version of an exhibition of the same name held in 2007 at the Triennale in Milan. An exhibition created as the concluding event presenting the results of a nation-wide census analysing the transition from the world of design in the 20th and 21st centuries, with a particular emphasis on the changes in the role of the profession of designer. The exhibition open until January 23 2011 at the santralistanbul in Istanbul focuses on Italian design, documenting its transformations and links with economic, political and technical changes in the century to provide a rich, varied overview. The objects on exhibit range from strictly industrial mass-produced items to self-made and artistic objects. Italian design is presented in all its forms (furniture design, food design, fashion and textile design, jewellery design, graphics, etc.) up to the new forms of communication and multimedia.
